JKRowling.com Site Extras
Around jkrowling.com, there are several secrets (or “Easter eggs”) hidden around the site which will give you access to exclusive content. Once found, they will be stored in the scrapbook on the desk top.
Very early page of Philosopher’s Stone:
There is a phone on the top left corner on the desk top. Dialling 62442 (the numbers which spell out M-A-G-I-C) and clicking the talk button will reveal an early plot line planned for the Philosopher’s Stone, which Jo says “would have changed everything”. Dialling the numbers again will bring up a check mark on the screen. Dialling the wrong numbers will display an exclamation mark.
First typed manuscript of Philosopher’s Stone:
For this, you will need to go on an item hunt around the site. Click the hair brush on the desk top to take you to the ‘Extra Stuff’ section. On the bottom left next to the hanging pen is a rubber. Click on it and drag it up to the piece of torn paper pinned with a red thumb tack. Rubbing it across the paper will reveal four items with arrows pointing towards a cauldron. They are:

Leaves (located to the top left corner of the ‘Extra Stuff’ section)

A spider (go back to the main page and wait a few moments for the spider to crawl across the screen and click on it)

A feather (head to the ‘Fan Sites’ section by clicking the paper binder on the desk top and click on the feather on the trophy shelf)

A potion bottle (go to the ‘Links’ section by clicking on the glasses on the desk top and click on the bottle)
Very early draft of Philosopher’s Stone (page 1):
Head to the ‘Fan Sites’ section by clicking the paper binder on the desk top. You must click the ring box on the far right five times. It will open to reveal a hovering question mark – click it to receive the early draft.
(You may have noticed that in bottom the ‘Rubbish Bin’ section, there is a piece of paper with jumbled words that can be rearranged to read, "Here I am no ring within, tap five times and you get in.")
Very early draft of Philosopher’s Stone (page 2):
Dialling the numbers 31071965 (Rowling’s birth date) into the phone in the top left corner of the desk top will unlock your next early draft.
Original synopsis of Philosopher’s Stone:
To receive this, you will need to follow two steps:
1. Head to the ‘Rubbish Bin’ section by clicking on the sharpener. To the top right corner of the bin is a coffee mug. Swirl it four times clockwise and let go, a circle should have formed inside. Go back to the desk top.
2. Go to the ‘Extra Stuff’ section by clicking on the hair brush on the desk top. Click on the red card with a circle on it to receive the original synopsis.
Ancient drawings (page 1):
To attain this interesting drawing on dragons, you will need patience. Wait at the desk top while looking at the marble above the diary and next to the paper clips (without clicking anything!). After a few moments, you will hear a gust of wind and Peeves’ laughter. At this moment, the marble will light up – make sure you click on it!
Ancient drawings (page 2):
Dialling 733837 (P-E-E-V-E-S) into the same phone on the top-left corner on the desk top will add a tea-stained drawing of a special mischievous character to your scrapbook.
Ancient drawings (page 3):
To receive this, you will need to go on another item hunt around the site. Clicking the sharpener on the desk top will take you to the ‘Rubbish Bin’ section. On the left of the bin lies a blue pen on top of a torn paper. Click on the middle of the pen, which breaks it and leaks blue ink onto the paper. The ink will form items you will need to reveal your next hidden secret. The items are:

Egg shells (located to the right of the bin)

Sticks (you will find these in the ‘Extra Stuff’ section by clicking the hair brush on the desk top. They are located below the blank paper on the left)

Marbles (these are found in the ‘Fan Sites’ section by clicking on the paper binder on the desk top. Slide the medal box on the topmost shelf to click on the marbles)
After finding and clicking on all three items, you will have access to another tea-stained drawing.
Ancient drawings (page 4):
Go to the ‘Fan Site’ section by clicking on the paper binder on the desk top. On the middle shelf lie two empty boxes and two medals with a question mark engraved on them. Drag each medal into one of the empty boxes to reveal an early drawing of the trio plus an unexpected character.
Page of doodlings (page 2):
For this, go to the ‘Links’ section by clicking on the glasses on the desk top. Move over the book with a question mark on the spine to reveal a key hanging on a hook. Click the key and drag it to the box to the right of the book shelf. The box opens to reveal a hovering question mark. Click it to receive your next reward.
More idle jottings (page 1)
To receive this, you must complete two steps:
1. Go to the ‘Extra Stuff’ section by clicking on the hair brush. To the bottom right, there is a radio. Click the on/off button to turn the radio on (if the radio is already on, turn it off, then back on again). You will hear the radio seeking different stations until it stops on a program called “Toots, Shoots 'n' Roots” hosted by Tilden Toots. Listen to it entirely until the radio switches back to normal.
2. Go back to the desk top and click on the pink rubber to take you the infamous room with the locked door. To the bottom left is a table with a plant and two potion bottles beside it. Pick up the red bottle and tip it over the plant, dropping 6 drops of potion into it, followed by 3 drops of the green – just like Tilden Toots said. The plant will rejuvenate and you will unlock your next secret.
Revision plan for the Order of the Phoenix:
Head to the ‘Extra Stuff’ section by clicking on the hair brush on the desk top. On the left of the paper in the centre is a hanging pen. Click the pen exactly where the string is attached to it and it will release. Drag the pen to the square paper attached with a red thumb tack and draw a lightning bolt in just the right way. To see how it needs to be drawn, go to the ‘Links’ section by clicking on the glasses on the desk top. Wait for a few moments until Peeves comes through with a gust of wind. The picture on the left will be knocked down showing how the lightning bolt needs to be drawn.
Other information:

If you wait on the desk top for long periods of time, the phone in the top left corner starts to ring. Answer it by clicking the round blue button to hear a voice asking if anyone is there.

In the room with the locked door, wait for a few moments. Peeves will eventually come past and write a message on the mirror.
